WP2 Training Program & Certification for Career Progression

TESAR training programme is designed to build essential competences in Evidence-Informed Policymaking (EIPM) among EU young researchers.  

Through TESAR learning journey, ESRs will explore how to advise policymakers, innovate, work with evidence, be future literate, engage with citizens, and collaborate effectively. 

By completing the programme, they will receive the TESAR micro-credential* “EIPM for ESRs”, a formal recognition of their competences that strengthens career prospects and supports their role at the science–policy interface.

* A micro-credential is a short, certified learning experience that proves you have acquired specific skills or knowledge. 

According to the EU Council Recommendation (2022), a micro-credential: 

• Certifies learning outcomes: it shows what you actually know and can do after completing a course.  

• Is based on a small, focused learning unit: shorter than a full degree, but still rigorous and meaningful.  

• Is assessed and quality-assured: you only receive it after successfully completing defined evaluation activities.  

• Is transparent and portable: it clearly states workload, content, and results, and can be shared across countries and institutions.  

• Can be used for career development, upskilling, or further learning.  

In simple terms: a micro-credential is a trusted, bite-sized certification that helps you quickly prove targeted competences in a flexible and internationally understandable way.
